Add "open with notepad" to the context menu on Windows 10





This video will show you how to add "open with notepad" to the context menu on Windows 10



1. Press the Windows + R key and type regedit



2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/shell



3. Right click on the shell folder and create a new key and name this Open with Notepad.



4. Now right click on the Open with Notepad folder and create a new key called command.



5. Now we want to change the default value within the key so double click and type in notepad.exe %1



6. Now when you right click on a file it will give you the option to open this file in notepad.
